Dr. Ed Mahan
was born and raised in Ventura County in Southern California. At 13 years of age I visited the Dentist for the first time. Unfortunately I needed several small fillings (ones I would only seal these days). Later on my parents suggested I become a dentist. After a career day in grade 8, I decided that is what I wanted. Four years later I was accepted at Cal Poly University San Luis Obispo California. I graduated with a BS in Biochemistry in 1971. I moved to Washington DC And entered Georgetown University, graduating with a DDS in 1976.
My best friend (a Canadian) in dental school suggested I move to Canada. Following his advice, I immigrated in 1977. I chose Saskatoon because I wanted to teach, and became a part-time faculty member at U of S until 1984. In 1986 I was accepted to an advanced standing program to achieve a Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine from Toronto. I was licensed as a ND in 1989. The same year I became a Canadian citizen.
On a personal note I married my wife Lynne in 1982. With her 4 children and my 1 and then 3 more, we have 8 children and 18 grandchildren!
Dentistry is not only my profession, it is my passion … my focus is on Naturopathic principles applied to Dentistry. In the 40 years of practicing Dentistry in Saskatoon, the art, and more specifically, the science has changed. My goal is to guide these changes into harmonization with Naturopathic principles.

Dr. Cheryl Hartl
Dr. Cheryl Hartl was born and raised in Regina. After high school she obtained a Registered Nursing Degree and worked as a nurse for several years often travelling along the way. She worked as a registered nurse in Canada, the United States and as far away as Saudi Arabia.
Dr. Hartl returned to Saskatchewan to further her education and enrolled at the University of Saskatchewan where she obtained a BSc in Anatomy and Cell Biology. Following her undergraduate degree, Dr. Hartl was accepted into the College of Dentistry where she convocated with her Doctorate of Dental Medicine Degree in 2003.
Dr. Hartl has a passion for dentistry and finds it very gratifying to interact with her patients by employing compassion and a caring chair-side manner. Outside of her professional life, Dr. Hartl is an avid gardener spending many hours in her flower beds and yard. She also enjoys riding sport bikes, mountain biking and attending concerts with her husband.

Bev Whitford, Dental Therapist
Bev graduated from the “National School of Dental Therapy” in June of 1992. She then worked for 10 years across the Arctic, Labrador and Northern Manitoba. In 2003 Bev was blessed with twins who are now 13 years old. Not wanting to return to the Arctic with babies, Bev chose to work with a private practice in Saskatchewan. I started working for Dr. Antosh in 2006 in Spiritwood and now work mainly at Hampton Village Dentistry.
I enjoy spending time with my children, baking and reading. I also spend a lot of time volunteering at my church.
